VACANCY: EMPLOYABILITY LECTURER (SCHOOLS)

We are looking for an experienced academic who has the ability and the enthusiasm to motivate, engage and inspire our students.   As an Employability Lecturer, you will be working within a supportive team and will have an exciting range of teaching opportunities to make a real difference to outcomes for our students.

You will have a passion for linking students with opportunities in Primary, Secondary and SEND across the city and will have had experience developing and engaging students and volunteers as part of the role in order to to coordinate and develop the Schools Programme. You will have experience in helping people develop and improve their employability skills and create an articulated program to support this.

You will assist in the development and delivery of our teaching and training offer as well as contribute to the process of continuous improvement in the quality of teaching and learning, working towards successful outcomes for our students.  You will also have experience in developing partnerships within the community and the ability to maintain administrative systems, including the use of online teaching resources.

It is essential that you hold recent teaching experience gained from a wide range of diverse and ethnic backgrounds and have the ability to act as a course tutor. The successful candidate will hold Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (e.g. GCSE) together with a degree and a recognised teaching qualification e.g. PGCE or DET.

This post is permanent working full-time 37.5 hours per week. A flexible approach to working hours is required.  We are currently working on an agile basis, this will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant.  We offer a generous annual leave allowance of 31 days on entry, works pension scheme, a range of staff benefits including NUS discount card and training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.  You will need access to a car and business insurance to facilitate school visits.
