Fancy reviewing a pioneering new pilot podcast for CU Online?

Enjoy listening to podcasts? Fancy lending your ear to The Bell Jar, a pioneering new pilot podcast project by Coventry University Online?

CU Online is inviting up to 10 student volunteers to listen to three pilot episodes on Thursday July 18 on topics including cyber security, healthcare and work. You’ll simply be required to listen to the podcasts at Friars House, Manor House Drive, Coventry, CV1 2TE, and fill in a questionnaire. Snacks will be provided!

Alternatively, additional volunteers can choose to listen to the podcasts remotely and submit feedback online by Friday July 19.

Ana Karnesova, Project Manager at CU Online, said: “The Bell Jar Podcast is our vehicle for scientific temper and analysis; a place where we get the opportunity to ask those big questions on issues that loom over us - What’s this? Why does it happen? How will it impact us?

“Our name was inspired from the tales of intrepid explorers like Charles Darwin who brought back strange specimens from the New World. They were displayed in bell jars for all to stare, dissect and ask questions.”

Coventry University Online produces online degree content, mostly broadcast on the FutureLearn platform.

Ana said: “This content, generated by studio teams of skilled learning designers and media producers, is deeply rich in thought, design and production value. The podcast project is our way of ‘fracking’ this content from the platform and streaming it out for the listening pleasure of an audience that goes beyond the walls of our own university.

“We want our soundwaves to ring out to local communities at Coventry, across Warwickshire, and far beyond the 133,000 students we have online from across the UK, Europe, US, Middle East and South Asia.”

If you’d like to take part in The Bell Jar Podcast project please email ad2665@coventry.ac.uk ASAP before Tuesday July 16 at 12noon.
