As part of Disability History Month 2019, the Disabled Students Community have launched our Acts of Kindness campaign. Last year we ran our 'Little Notes of Happiness' campaign, where we created notes to bring a smile to someones day and left them around the campus! We even held a 'Little Notes of Happiness' stall at Coventry's wellbeing festival in The Herbert Art Gallery and handed out around 100 notes to the wider Coventry community. This was hugely successful and spread across social media.
This year we'll be running our Acts Of Kindness Campaign throughout Disability History Month (22nd Nov - 22nd Dec). Being kind not only has a direct effect on others, but it has a positive impact on yourself as well. Not sure where to begin? Here's a few simple examples of things you can do:
- Send an encouraging email or text to someone.
- Compliment someone new.
- Offer to help someone with a task.
- Donate to a charity.
It's suprising how such small things can have a huge impact on someones day and wellbeing. Let's make Coventry University a space of kindness, compassion, and inclusivity.
We'll also be giving out our 'Little Notes of Happiness' with drink orders at The Courtyard, so can have your coffee with a smile.
We know that you all do incredible things, every single day here at Coventry! And we want to hear about it! You can register your Acts of Kindness by filling in our survey here! We're trying to reach 100 Acts of Kindness by the 22nd December, and if you're happy to share, we'll share your act on our social media!
Remember, “A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.” – Amelia Earhart
